1. The Pose Method® is a system for teaching human movement, by determining the key poses(or positions), and working with the laws of nature instead of against them. In running, this is achieved by accepting gravity as the primary force for forward movement instead of muscular energy. Optimization of the work is provided by the Pose Model of running. 2. The ability of certain poses(or positions) to integrate the whole chain of preceding and subsequent movements into one whole, wasting no energy on unnecessary movement which lays the foundation of the Pose Method®. Analyzing the movement of living creatures through time and space clearly shows that their bodies pass through an infinite number of positions. Most of the positions(or poses) are transitional movements and are the results, not the cause, of proper positioning.

1. The present Pose Method® coaching certification program began its development in Russia in the mid 70's and received momentum when Dr. Nicolas Romanov moved to the USA in 1993. The absence of a commonly accepted running model and the method for teaching it by the science and coaching community dictated the necessity for Pose Method® and its Teaching Model. 2. The absence of a teaching model was related with coaches' beliefs that running technique is very individualized due to the large variety of differences between people (age, gender, size, condition and so on), making it impossible for a technique to exist that would suit everyone. Different running events from sprint to marathon added to this widespread belief. "There is no commonly accepted running model which will suit everyone (Nytro, 1987). "No, there is no correct running form, and you couldn't learn it. Form is God-given. If you systematize it, you destroy it" (Wallack, 2004).

1. We believe the opposite of the common belief among running coaches. 2. We believe that there is only one running technique despite the speed or length of running, because the technique is the skill through which we are establishing our relationship with the environment, where the main mechanical factor is Gravity. It does not matter if we are running fast(sprinting) or slow (jogging); what matters is that were are running on a plane, and that our contact with this plane must occur in a certain way in order to avoid getting injured. 3. Our technique is the skill of interacting with Gravity. 4. From this point-of-view we can easily understand that Gravity is not going to change the way it interacts with us because we are running different distances or with a different speed, because we have a different age, weight, sex and so on. 5. Keeping this in mind, we eventually will come to the conclusion, that the technique represents a certain frame of the movement through which we interact with Gravity. 6. Furthermore, this frame of movement should not be working against Gravity, rather we should use it to produce the forward movement of the body.
